Valencia Basket Club, founded in 1986, has quickly become one of the most respected teams in Spanish basketball. Based in Valencia, the club has experienced an impressive rise since its inception, earning a prominent place in the Liga Endesa, Spain’s premier league. Its history is marked by notable successes, both nationally and internationally.

The club initially competed in lower divisions before climbing to the Liga ACB in 1988. Since then, it has continued to progress, winning several important titles. Among Valencia Basket’s most significant achievements is its multiple victories in the EuroCup, a prestigious trophy that has helped the club gain recognition on the European stage. In 2017, the team achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Liga Endesa championship for the first time in its history, confirming its status as a top-tier team.

The club is also very active in promoting basketball at the local level, with a strong commitment to youth development programs. L’Alqueria is the training and development center for both the Valencia Basket youth teams and their male counterparts. The Valencia Basket men’s team, not having a Euroleague Class A license, regularly shuttles between the EuroCup, which it has won regularly – 4 times since 2004 – to climb back to the highest European level. Although the women’s section is more recent – 2014 – its record is nevertheless impressive with 6 trophies to its credit, including 2 European ones. The 2023-2024 season will go down in history as the club won the championship for the 2nd consecutive time and completed the treble with the Queen’s Cup and the Spanish Super Cup, just 6 years after its creation.
