Sasha Vezenkov is continuing his journey with Olympiacos and will keep his iconic No. 14 for the 2026-27 season. The Bulgarian is clearly one of the faces of the Piraeus club, and his jersey has become a must-see for those who follow the EuroLeague closely. After his stint in the NBA with Sacramento, Vezenkov returned to Olympiacos with a simple goal: to reclaim his place at the top of European basketball.

And he certainly didn’t waste any time. Back in Piraeus, Vezenkov quickly settled back into his usual rhythm: scoring, rebounding, formidable shooting accuracy, and that ability to be a threat virtually anywhere on the court. His outside shooting is obviously one of his biggest strengths. But to reduce Vezenkov to just a shooter would be to overlook a significant part of what makes him a great player. He grabs rebounds, can finish around the basket, and possesses the court vision that allows him to consistently be in the right place at the right time. Olympiacos benefits greatly from this versatility.

The Bulgarian’s career with the Greek club has already been quite eventful. He wore the red-and-white jersey from 2018 to 2023 before joining the Sacramento Kings, then returned to Olympiacos to continue his European journey. His achievements with the club include several Greek league titles and, most notably, the EuroLeague championship won in 2026. On an individual level, he has also been named EuroLeague MVP twice, in 2023 and 2026.

This new season also gives us a chance to see Vezenkov in an even more central role. With Olympiacos, he’s no longer just the player who needs to prove his potential on the European stage—he’s now one of the key players around whom the team builds its offense. And when he starts making his shots, opposing defenses usually have a little problem on their hands.
